Andrea Polli

Andrea Polli is a physiotherapist and postdoctoral research assistant at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He obtained his bachelor in physiotherapy and master’s degree in rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders in Italy, and then moved to the UK, to obtain the MSc in Pain: Science & Society at the prestigious King’s College London. After the MSc, he returned to Italy and worked at the IRCCS San Camillo Hospital, in Venice. He then moved to Belgium in 2015, where he obtained his joint PhD at the universities VU Brussel and KU Leuven in 2020, exploring the link between epigenetic mechanisms and exercise in people with persistent pain and chronic fatigue syndrome. He is author or co-author in over 25 publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals. Andrea is extensively involved in teaching in many forms, giving classes and courses to mainly physiotherapy students at the BSc and MSc level. He delivered keynote lectures in several European countries and presented his research at international congresses in the UK, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Italy, Turkey, South Africa and the USA.
