Professor of Practice at Robbins College of Health and Human Services, Baylor University, Texas. Dr. Puentedura has more than 40 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist. He obtained a degree in physical therapy (1980) and a postgraduate diploma in manipulative therapy (1983) in Melbourne, Australia. After moving to the United States, he completed a post-professional doctorate in physical therapy at Northern Arizona University and a doctorate in physical therapy at New Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He worked for 10 years as an adjunct professor and then as an associate professor in the doctor of physical therapy program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas before becoming a professor at Baylor University. He has been training physical therapists and physical therapy students for over 35 years and has published over 80 scientific articles since 2010. His publications have over 3800 citations (h-index: 30, i10-index: 56). He has received several awards, including the Rose Excellence Award for Research from the American Physical Therapy Association Section of Orthopaedics, the John Medeiros Award from the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy, and best presentation awards at the 2012 and 2016 annual conferences of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.
