Maria Galve-Villa

With a PhD from the Centre for Neuroplasticity and Pain at Aalborg University (Denmark) and an MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from University College Dublin, Maria has published several articles in prestigious journals and has been a speaker at international conferences. Her studies explore changes in pain and other perceptions (tingling, numbness, etc.) using digital health in patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain. Maria was recently awarded a BioInnovate Fellowship by the University of Galway (Ireland).

Maria has spent her entire career in Ireland and Denmark where she has worked in one of the best rheumatology units in Ireland, and in the multidisciplinary Pain and Headache Unit at Aarhus University Hospital. In addition, for several years Maria has been a lecturer in the online module in English "Chronic Pain Management" at the University of Manresa for physiotherapy and nursing students.
